Jeremiah 28:1

Hananiah the False Prophet

1In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of fZedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, Hananiah the son of gAzzur, the prophet from hGibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying,

Jeremiah 28:10-11

10Then the prophet Hananiah took the iyoke-bars from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke them. 11And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, jThus says the Lord: kEven so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of lall the nations within two years.” But Jeremiah the prophet went his way.

Jeremiah 29:24-32

Shemaiah’s False Prophecy

24To mShemaiah of Nehelam you shall say: 25Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: You have sent letters in your name to all the people who are in Jerusalem, and to nZephaniah the son of oMaaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, 26‘The Lord has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to have pcharge in the house of the Lord qover every madman who prophesies, to put him in rthe stocks and neck irons. 27Now why have you not rebuked Jeremiah sof Anathoth who is prophesying to you? 28For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, “Your exile will be long; tbuild houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat their produce.”’”

29 uZephaniah the priest read this letter in the hearing of Jeremiah the prophet. 30 vThen the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 31Send to all the exiles, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord concerning wShemaiah of Nehelam: Because xShemaiah had prophesied to you ywhen I did not send him, and has made you trust in a lie, 32therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish zShemaiah of Nehelam and his descendants. He shall not have anyone living among this people, aaand he shall not see the good that I will do to my people, declares the Lord, abfor he has spoken rebellion against the Lord.’”

2 Timothy 3:8

8Just as acJannes and Jambres adopposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, aemen corrupted in mind and afdisqualified regarding the faith.

2 Timothy 4:14-15

14 agAlexander the coppersmith did me great harm; ahthe Lord will repay him according to his deeds. 15Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message.
