Exodus 7:19-20

19 And the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and ^astretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, their canals, and their ponds, and all their pools of water, so that they may become blood, and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”

20 Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded. In the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants he ^blifted up the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the ^cwater in the Nile turned into blood.

Numbers 20:8-11

8 ^d“Take the staff, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to yield its water. So ^eyou shall bring water out of the rock for them and give drink to the congregation and their cattle.” 9 And Moses took the staff ^ffrom before the Lord, as he commanded him.

Moses Strikes the Rock

10 Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, ^g“Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, ^hand water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.
