13You said in your heart,
d‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
eI will set my throne on high;

Or  in the remote parts of Zaphon

14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’

Ezekiel 28:2-9

2 gSon of man, say to hthe prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:

i“Because your heart is proud,
and jyou have said, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of the gods,
in the heart of the seas,’
yet kyou are but a man, and no god,
lthough you make your heart like the heart of a god
3 myou are indeed wiser nthan oDaniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4by your wisdom and your understanding
pyou have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and qyour heart has become proud in your wealth
6therefore thus says the Lord God:
rBecause you make your heart
like the heart of a god,
7therefore, behold, I will bring sforeigners upon you,
the most ruthless of the nations;
and they shall draw their swords against tthe beauty of your wisdom
and defile uyour splendor.
8 vThey shall thrust you down into the pit,
wand you shall die the death of the slain
in the heart of the seas.
9 xWill you still say, ‘I am a god,’
in the presence of those who kill you,
though yyou are but a man, and no god,
in the hands of those who slay you?

Daniel 5:20-23

20But zwhen his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, aahe was brought down from his kingly throne, and his glory was taken from him. 21 abHe was driven from among the children of mankind, and his mind was made like that of a beast, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, acuntil he knew that the adMost High God rules the kingdom of mankind and sets over it whom he will. 22And you his son,
Or successor
afBelshazzar, aghave not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
23but you have lifted up yourself against ahthe Lord of heaven. And aithe vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. ajAnd you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, akbut the God in whose hand is your breath, and alwhose are all your ways, amyou have not honored.
