Exodus 9:20-21

20Then whoever feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses, 21but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the Lord left his slaves and his livestock in the field.

2 Chronicles 34:27-28

27because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 28Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place and its inhabitants.’” And they brought back word to the king.

Job 4:12-21

12 “Now a word was brought to me stealthily;
my ear received athe whisper of it.
13Amid bthoughts from cvisions of the night,
when ddeep sleep falls on men,
14dread came upon me, and trembling,
which made all my bones shake.
15A spirit glided past my face;
the hair of my flesh stood up.
16It stood still,
but I could not discern its appearance.
eA form was before my eyes;
there was silence, then I heard fa voice:
17 g‘Can mortal man be in the right before
Or more than; twice in this verse
God?
Can a man be pure before his Maker?
18Even in his servants ihe puts no trust,
and his angels he charges with error;
19how much more those who dwell in houses of jclay,
whose foundation is in kthe dust,
who are crushed like lthe moth.
20Between mmorning and evening they are beaten to pieces;
they perish forever nwithout anyone regarding it.
21Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them,
odo they not die, and that without wisdom?’

Psalms 119:120

120My flesh ptrembles for fear of you,
and I am afraid of your judgments.

Habakkuk 1:5-10

The Lord’s Answer

5 qLook among the nations, and see;
wonder and be astounded.
rFor I am doing a work in your days
that you would not believe if told.
6For behold, sI am raising up the Chaldeans,
that bitter and hasty nation,
twho march through the breadth of the earth,
uto seize dwellings not their own.
7They are dreaded and fearsome;
vtheir justice and dignity go forth from themselves.
8 wTheir horses are swifter than leopards,
more fierce than xthe evening wolves;
their horsemen press proudly on.
Their horsemen come from afar;
ythey fly like an eagle swift to devour.
9They all come zfor violence,
all their faces forward.
They gather captives aalike sand.
10At kings they scoff,
and at rulers they laugh.
abThey laugh at every fortress,
for acthey pile up earth and take it.

Habakkuk 3:16

16 adI hear, and aemy body trembles;
my lips quiver at the sound;
afrottenness enters into my bones;
my legs tremble beneath me.
Yet agI will quietly wait for the day of trouble
to come upon people who invade us.
