Exodus 9:4-6

4 aBut the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that belongs to the people of Israel shall die.”’” 5And the Lord set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.” 6And the next day the Lord did this thing. bAll the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died.

Exodus 12:13

13 cThe blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

Exodus 12:23

23 dFor the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on ethe lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and fwill not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you.

Isaiah 26:20-21

20 Come, my people, enter your chambers,
and shut your doors behind you;
hide yourselves gfor a little while
until the fury has passed by.
21 hFor behold, the Lord is coming out from his place
to punish the inhabitants of ithe earth for their iniquity,
