Mark 6:26-28

Herod Is Perplexed by Jesus

7 lNow mHerod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that nJohn had been raised from the dead, 8 oby some that Elijah had appeared, and pby others that one of the prophets of old had risen. 9Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And qhe sought to see him.

Luke 23:8-11

8When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, rfor he had long desired to see him, sbecause he had heard about him, and he was hoping tto see some sign done by him. 9So he questioned him at some length, but he made no answer. 10The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him. 11And Herod with his soldiers utreated him with contempt and vmocked him. Then, warraying him in splendid clothing, he sent him back to Pilate.
