Ezekiel 19:14

14 ^bAnd fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots,
has consumed its fruit,
^cso that there remains in it no strong stem,
no scepter for ruling.
This is ^da lamentation and has become a lamentation.

John 15:1-6

I Am the True Vine

1 “I am the ^etrue vine, and my Father is ^fthe vinedresser. 2 ^gEvery branch in me that does not bear fruit ^hhe takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, ⁱthat it may bear more fruit. 3 Already ^jyou are clean ^kbecause of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 ^lAbide ^min me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; ⁿyou are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that ^obears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me ^phe is thrown away like a branch and withers; ^qand the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
