Ezekiel 20:20-22

20 and ^akeep my Sabbaths holy that ^bthey may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.' 21 ^cBut the children ^drebelled against me. ^eThey did not walk in my statutes and were not careful to obey my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; they profaned my Sabbaths.

^f“Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my anger against them in the wilderness. 22 ^gBut I withheld my hand ^hand acted for the sake of my name, ⁱthat it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Zechariah 1:14-15

14 So ^jthe angel who talked with me said to me, ‘Cry out, Thus says the Lord of hosts: ^kI am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion. 15 ^lAnd I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are ^mat ease; ⁿfor while I was angry but a little, ^othey furthered the disaster.
