30Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: aWill you defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers and go bwhoring after their detestable things? 31When you present your gifts and coffer up your children in fire,
Hebrew  and make your children pass through the fire
you defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. And eshall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? fAs I live, declares the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you.

1 Corinthians 8:1

Food Offered to Idols

1Now concerning
The expression  Now concerning introduces a reply to a question in the Corinthians’ letter; see 7:1
hfood offered to idols: we know that i“all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledgejpuffs up, kbut love builds up.

1 Corinthians 8:4-13

4Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that l“an idol has no real existence,” and that m“there is no God but one.” 5For although there may be nso-called gods in heaven or on earthas indeed there are manygodsand manylords”— 6yet ofor us there is one God, the Father, pfrom whom are all things and for whom we exist, and qone Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and rthrough whom we exist.

7However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, sthrough former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and ttheir conscience, being weak, is defiled. 8 uFood will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do. 9But take care vthat this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block wto the weak. 10For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating

in an idol’s temple, will he not be encouraged,
Or fortified; Greek built up
if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols?
11And so by your knowledge this weak person is zdestroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. 12Thus, sinning against your brothers
Or  brothers and sisters
and abwounding their conscience when it is weak, acyou sin against Christ.
13Therefore, adif food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

1 Corinthians 10:20-22

20No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice aethey offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. 21 afYou cannot drink the cup of the Lord and agthe cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and ahthe table of demons. 22 aiShall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? ajAre we stronger than he?

1 Corinthians 10:28

28But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience

Revelation of John 2:14
