Ezekiel 25:3-9

And I will make it desolate; from aaTeman even to abDedan they shall fall by the sword. 14And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom acby the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and adthey shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.

15Thus says the Lord God: Because aethe Philistines afacted revengefully and took vengeance agwith malice of soul to destroy in never-ending enmity, 16therefore thus says the Lord God, ahBehold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off aithe Cherethites and destroy the rest of the seacoast. 17I will execute great vengeance on them ajwith wrathful rebukes. akThen they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.”

and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”

says the Lord God.

and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because they delivered up a whole people to Edom,
and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
10So I will send a fire upon the wall of bxTyre,
and it shall devour her strongholds.”
11Thus says the Lord:

and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
cabecause he pursued his brother with the sword
cband cast off all pity,
ccand his anger tore perpetually,
cdand he kept his wrath forever.
12So I will send a fire upon ceTeman,
and it shall devour the strongholds of cfBozrah.”
13Thus says the Lord:

and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because cithey have ripped open pregnant women in cjGilead,
that they might enlarge their border.

Obadiah 10-16

Edom’s Violence Against Jacob

10 ckBecause of the violence done to your brother Jacob,
shame shall cover you,
cland you shall be cut off forever.
11 cmOn the day that you stood aloof,
cnon the day that strangers carried off his wealth
and foreigners entered his gates
coand cast lots for Jerusalem,
you were like one of them.
12 cpBut do not gloat over the day of your brother
in the day of his misfortune;
cqdo not rejoice over the people of Judah
in the day of their ruin;
crdo not boast

in the day of their calamity;

to cut off his fugitives;
do not hand over his survivors
in the day of distress.

The Day of the Lord Is Near

15 For cxthe day of the Lord is near upon all the nations.
cyAs you have done, it shall be done to you;
your deeds shall return on your own head.
16 czFor as you have drunk on damy holy mountain,
so all the nations shall drink continually;
they shall drink and swallow,
and shall be as though they had never been.
