Ezekiel 38:7-23

7 a“Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. 8 bAfter many days you will be mustered. cIn the latter years you will go against dthe land that is restored from war, the land whose people ewere gathered from many peoples upon fthe mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and gnow dwell securely, all of them. 9You will advance, coming on hlike a storm. You will be ilike a cloud covering the land, you and all your jhordes, and many peoples with you.

10Thus says the Lord God: On that day, kthoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme 11and say, ‘I will go up against lthe land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon mthe quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ 12to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against nthe waste places that are now inhabited, and othe people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, pwho dwell at the center of the earth. 13 qSheba and rDedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all sits leaders

will say to you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’

14Therefore, uson of man, prophesy, and say to vGog, Thus says the Lord God: On that day when my people Israel are wdwelling securely, xwill you not know it? 15You will come from your place out of ythe uttermost parts of the north, you and zmany peoples with you, aaall of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. 16You will come up against my people Israel, ablike a cloud covering the land. acIn the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, adI vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

17Thus says the Lord God: Are you aehe of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? 18But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord God, afmy wrath will be roused in my anger. 19For agin my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day ahthere shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 aiThe fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, ajshall quake at my presence. And akthe mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. 21 alI will summon a sword against Gog

on all my mountains, declares the Lord God. anEvery man’s sword will be against his brother.
22With pestilence and bloodshed aoI will enter into judgment with him, and apI will rain upon him and aqhis hordes and the many peoples who are with him artorrential rains and hailstones, asfire and sulfur. 23So I will show my greatness and my atholiness and aumake myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then avthey will know that I am the Lord.

Zechariah 12:2-9

2Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem awa cup of staggering to axall the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem aywill also be against Judah. 3 azOn that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. baAll who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And bball the nations of the earth will gather against it. 4 bcOn that day, declares the Lord, bdI will strike every horse bewith panic, and its rider bfwith madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples bgwith blindness. 5Then the clans of Judah shall say to themselves, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem have strength through the Lord of hosts, their God.’

6 bh“On that day I will make the clans of Judah bilike a blazing pot in the midst of wood, like a flaming torch among sheaves. And bjthey shall devour to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples, while bkJerusalem shall again be inhabited in its place, in Jerusalem.

7“And the Lord will give salvation to the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that of Judah. 8 blOn that day bmthe Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that bnthe feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, bolike the angel of the Lord, going before them. 9 bpAnd on that day bqI will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14:2-3

2For brI will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and bsthe city shall be taken btand the houses plundered buand the women raped. bvHalf of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 bwThen the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
