Ezekiel 38:8-18

8 aAfter many days you will be mustered. bIn the latter years you will go against cthe land that is restored from war, the land whose people dwere gathered from many peoples upon ethe mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and fnow dwell securely, all of them. 9You will advance, coming on glike a storm. You will be hlike a cloud covering the land, you and all your ihordes, and many peoples with you.

10Thus says the Lord God: On that day, jthoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme 11and say, ‘I will go up against kthe land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon lthe quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ 12to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against mthe waste places that are now inhabited, and nthe people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, owho dwell at the center of the earth. 13 pSheba and qDedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all rits leaders
Hebrew young lions
will say to you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’

14Therefore, tson of man, prophesy, and say to uGog, Thus says the Lord God: On that day when my people Israel are vdwelling securely, wwill you not know it? 15You will come from your place out of xthe uttermost parts of the north, you and ymany peoples with you, zall of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. 16You will come up against my people Israel, aalike a cloud covering the land. abIn the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, acI vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

17Thus says the Lord God: Are you adhe of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? 18But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord God, aemy wrath will be roused in my anger.

Daniel 7:21-26

21As I looked, this horn afmade war with the saints and prevailed over them, 22until the agAncient of Days came, and ahjudgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when aithe saints possessed the kingdom.

23Thus he said: ‘As for ajthe fourth beast,

there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth,
which shall be different from all the kingdoms,
and it shall devour the whole earth,
and trample it down, and break it to pieces.
24As for the ten horns,
out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise,
and another shall arise after them;
he shall be different from the former ones,
and shall put down three kings.
25 akHe shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
and shall think to alchange the times and the law;
and they shall be given into his hand
for ama time, times, and half a time.
26 anBut the court shall sit in judgment,
and aohis dominion shall be taken away,
to be consumed and destroyed apto the end.

Revelation of John 13:1-10

The First Beast

1And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, aqwith ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and arblasphemous names on its heads. 2And the beast that I saw was aslike a leopard; its feet were like ata bear’s, and its mouth was like aua lion’s mouth. And to it avthe dragon gave his power and awhis throne and great authority. 3One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and axthe whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. 4And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, ayWho is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”

5And the beast was given aza mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for baforty-two months. 6It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling,
Or tabernacle

7Also it was allowed bcto make war on the saints and to conquer them.
Some manuscripts omit this sentence
And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,
8and all bewho dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in bfthe book of life of bgthe Lamb bhwho was slain. 9 biIf anyone has an ear, let him hear:

10 bjIf anyone is to be taken captive,
to captivity he goes;
bkif anyone is to be slain with the sword,
with the sword must he be slain.
blHere is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
