Ezekiel 38

Prophecy Against Gog

1The word of the Lord came to me: 2 aSon of man, bset your face toward cGog, of the land of dMagog, the echief prince of fMeshech
Or  Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech
and hTubal, and iprophesy against him
3and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, jI am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech
Or  Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech
and Tubal.
4 lAnd I will turn you about and mput hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and nall your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords. 5 oPersia, pCush, and qPut are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 rGomer and all his shordes; tBeth-togarmah from uthe uttermost parts of the north with all his hordesvmany peoples are with you.

7 w“Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. 8 xAfter many days you will be mustered. yIn the latter years you will go against zthe land that is restored from war, the land whose people aawere gathered from many peoples upon abthe mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and acnow dwell securely, all of them. 9You will advance, coming on adlike a storm. You will be aelike a cloud covering the land, you and all your afhordes, and many peoples with you.

10Thus says the Lord God: On that day, agthoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme 11and say, ‘I will go up against ahthe land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon aithe quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ 12to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against ajthe waste places that are now inhabited, and akthe people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, alwho dwell at the center of the earth. 13 amSheba and anDedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all aoits leaders
Hebrew young lions
will say to you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’

14Therefore, aqson of man, prophesy, and say to arGog, Thus says the Lord God: On that day when my people Israel are asdwelling securely, atwill you not know it? 15You will come from your place out of authe uttermost parts of the north, you and avmany peoples with you, awall of them riding on horses, a great host, a mighty army. 16You will come up against my people Israel, axlike a cloud covering the land. ayIn the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, azI vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

17Thus says the Lord God: Are you bahe of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? 18But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord God, bbmy wrath will be roused in my anger. 19For bcin my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day bdthere shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 beThe fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, bfshall quake at my presence. And bgthe mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. 21 bhI will summon a sword against Gog
Hebrew  against him
on all my mountains, declares the Lord God. bjEvery man’s sword will be against his brother.
22With pestilence and bloodshed bkI will enter into judgment with him, and blI will rain upon him and bmhis hordes and the many peoples who are with him bntorrential rains and hailstones, bofire and sulfur. 23So I will show my greatness and my bpholiness and bqmake myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then brthey will know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 39

1“And you, bsson of man, btprophesy against buGog and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, bvI am against you, O Gog, bwchief prince of bxMeshech
Or  Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech
and bzTubal.
2 caAnd I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from cbthe uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the ccmountains of Israel. 3Then cdI will strike your bow from your left hand, and cewill make your arrows drop out of your right hand. 4 cfYou shall fall on cgthe mountains of Israel, you and all your chhordes and the peoples who are with you. ciI will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5You shall fall in the open field, for cjI have spoken, declares the Lord God. 6 ckI will send fire on clMagog and on those cmwho dwell securely in cnthe coastlands, and cothey shall know that I am the Lord.

7“And cpmy holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and cqI will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And crthe nations shall know that I am csthe Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 ctBehold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day cuof which I have spoken.

9“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and cvmake fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, cwclubs
Or javelins
and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years,
10so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for cythey will make their fires of the weapons. czThey will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.

11“On that day I will give to daGog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of dbHamon-gog.
 Hamon-gog means the multitude of Gog
12For ddseven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order deto cleanse the land. 13All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that dfI show my glory, declares the Lord God. 14They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as dgto cleanse it. At
Or Until
the end of diseven months they will make their search.
15And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of djHamon-gog. 16(Hamonah
 Hamonah means multitude
is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land.

17“As for you, dlson of man, thus says the Lord God: dmSpeak to dnthe birds of every sort and to doall beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to dpthe sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 dqYou shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them drfat beasts of Bashan. 19And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. 20And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God.

21“And dsI will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see dtmy judgment that I have executed, and dumy hand that I have laid on them. 22 dvThe house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God, from that day forward. 23And dwthe nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that dxI hid my face from them and dygave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. 24I dealt with them dzaccording to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

25Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now eaI will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on ebthe whole house of Israel, and ecI will be jealous for my holy name. 26They shall edforget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when eethey dwell securely in their land with efnone to make them afraid, 27 egwhen I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemieslands, ehand through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28 eiThen they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29 ejAnd I will not hide my face anymore from them, when ekI pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”

Daniel 2:34-35

34As you looked, a stone was cut out elby no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and embroke them in pieces. 35Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became enlike the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that eonot a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became epa great mountain eqand filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2:44

44And in the days of those kings erthe God of heaven will set up esa kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. etIt shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and euit shall stand forever,

Daniel 11:44-45

44But news from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go out with great fury to destroy and devote many to destruction. 45And he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with none to help him.

Daniel 12:1

The Time of the End

1“At that time shall arise evMichael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And ewthere shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, exeveryone whose name shall be found written in the book.

Joel 3:9-17

9 Proclaim this among the nations:
eyConsecrate for war;
Or  Consecrate a war

stir up the mighty men.
Let all the men of war draw near;
let them come up.
10 faBeat your plowshares into swords,
and fbyour pruning hooks into spears;
let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”
11 fcHasten and come,
all you surrounding nations,
and gather yourselves there.
fdBring down your warriors, O Lord.
12Let the nations stir themselves up
and come up to fethe Valley of Jehoshaphat;
fffor there I will sit to judge
all the surrounding nations.
13 fgPut in the sickle,
fhfor the harvest is ripe.
fiGo in, tread,
fjfor the winepress is full.
The vats overflow,
for their evil is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes,
in the valley of decision!
For fkthe day of the Lord is near
in the valley of decision.
15 flThe sun and the moon are darkened,
and the stars withdraw their shining.
16 fmThe Lord roars from Zion,
and fnutters his voice from Jerusalem,
foand the heavens and the earth quake.
But the Lord is fpa refuge to his people,
a stronghold to the people of Israel.

The Glorious Future of Judah

17 fq“So you shall know that I am the Lord your God,
frwho dwells in Zion, fsmy holy mountain.
And Jerusalem shall be holy,
and ftstrangers shall never again pass through it.

Zechariah 12

The Lord Will Give Salvation

1 fuThe oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, fvwho stretched out the heavens and fwfounded the earth and fxformed the spirit of man within him: 2Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem fya cup of staggering to fzall the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem gawill also be against Judah. 3 gbOn that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. gcAll who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And gdall the nations of the earth will gather against it. 4 geOn that day, declares the Lord, gfI will strike every horse ggwith panic, and its rider ghwith madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples giwith blindness. 5Then the clans of Judah shall say to themselves, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem have strength through the Lord of hosts, their God.’

6 gj“On that day I will make the clans of Judah gklike a blazing pot in the midst of wood, like a flaming torch among sheaves. And glthey shall devour to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples, while gmJerusalem shall again be inhabited in its place, in Jerusalem.

7“And the Lord will give salvation to the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that of Judah. 8 gnOn that day gothe Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that gpthe feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, gqlike the angel of the Lord, going before them. 9 grAnd on that day gsI will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Him Whom They Have Pierced

10“And gtI will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and gupleas for mercy, so that, gvwhen they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, gwthey shall mourn for him, gxas one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. 11 gyOn that day gzthe mourning in Jerusalem will be as great haas the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12The land shall mourn, hbeach family
Or clan; also verses 13, 14
by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of hdNathan by itself, and their wives by themselves;
13the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of hethe Shimeites by itself, and their wives by themselves; 14and all the families that are left, each by itself, and their wives by themselves.

Zechariah 13

1 hf“On that day there shall be hga fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.

Idolatry Cut Off

2“And hhon that day, declares the Lord of hosts, hiI will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that hjthey shall be remembered no more. And also hkI will remove from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness. 3And if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, hl‘You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who bore him shall pierce him through when he prophesies.

4“On that day hmevery prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies. He will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive, 5but he will say, hnI am no prophet, I am a worker of the soil, for a man sold me in my youth.’
Or for the land has been my possession since my youth
6And if one asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your back?’
Or  on your chest; Hebrew  wounds between your hands
he will say, ‘The wounds I received in the house of my friends.’

The Shepherd Struck

7 Awake, O sword, against hqmy shepherd,
against the man who stands next to me,”

declares the Lord of hosts.
hrStrike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered;
I will turn my hand against the little ones.
8In the whole land, declares the Lord,
two thirds shall be cut off and perish,
hsand one third shall be left alive.
9And htI will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
huThey will call upon my name,
and hvI will answer them.
hwI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Zechariah 14

The Coming Day of the Lord

1Behold, hxa day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. 2For hyI will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and hzthe city shall be taken iaand the houses plundered iband the women raped. icHalf of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 idThen the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4 ieOn that day his feet shall stand ifon igthe Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and ihthe Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by iia very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. 5And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from ijthe earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

6 ikOn that day ilthere shall be imno light, cold, or frost.
Compare Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate, Targum; the meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain
7 ioAnd there shall be a unique
Hebrew one
day, iqwhich is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but irat evening time there shall be light.

8 isOn that day itliving waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to iuthe eastern sea
That is,  the Dead Sea
and half of them to iwthe western sea.
That is,  the Mediterranean Sea
iyIt shall continue in summer as in winter.

9And izthe Lord will be king over all the earth. jaOn that day the Lord will be jbone and jchis name one.

10 jdThe whole land shall be turned into a plain from jeGeba to jfRimmon south of Jerusalem. But jgJerusalem shall remain aloft jhon its site from jithe Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to jjthe Corner Gate, and from jkthe Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. 11And it shall be inhabited, for jlthere shall never again be a decree of utter destruction.
The Hebrew term rendered  decree of utter destruction refers to things devoted (or set apart) to the Lord (or by the Lord) for destruction
jnJerusalem shall dwell in security.

12And this shall be jothe plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

13And jpon that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that jqeach will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other. 14Even jrJudah will fight at Jerusalem. And jsthe wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance. 15And jta plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and whatever beasts may be in those camps.

16Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem jushall go up year after year to worship jvthe King, the Lord of hosts, and jwto keep jxthe Feast of Booths. 17And if jyany of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship jzthe King, the Lord of hosts, kathere will be no rain on them. 18And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;
Hebrew lacks  rain
there shall be kcthe plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up kdto keep the Feast of Booths.
19This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up keto keep the Feast of Booths.

20And kfon that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, kgHoly to the Lord.” And the pots in the house of the Lord shall be as the bowls before the altar. 21And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be khholy to the Lord of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And kithere shall no longer be kja trader
Or Canaanite
in the house of the Lord of hosts klon that day.
