Chambers for the Priests

44 On the outside of the inner gateway there were two ^achambers ^{▼▼Septuagint; Hebrew were chambers for singers} in the ^cinner court, one ^{▼▼Hebrew lacks one} at the side of the north gate facing south, the other at the side of the south ^{▼▼Septuagint; Hebrew east} gate facing north. 45 And he said to me, “This chamber that faces south is for the priests ^fwho have charge of the temple, 46 and the chamber that faces north is for the priests ^gwho have charge of the altar. These are ^hthe sons of Zadok, who alone ^{▼▼Hebrew lacks alone} among the sons of Levi may come ^jnear to the Lord to minister to him.”

9 Below these chambers was ^kan entrance on the east side, as one enters them from the outer court.

Ezekiel 44:4-5

4 Then he brought me by way of ^lthe north gate to the front of the temple, and I looked, and behold, ^mthe glory of the Lord filled the temple of the Lord. And ⁿI fell on my face. 5 And the Lord said to me, ^o“Son of man, mark well, ^psee with your eyes, ^qand hear with your ears all that I shall tell you concerning ^rall the statutes of the temple of the Lord and all its laws. And mark well ^sthe entrance to the temple and all the exits from the sanctuary.
