17 ^aAll hands are feeble, and all knees turn to water. 18 ^bThey put on sackcloth, and ^chorror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and ^dbaldness on all their heads. 19 They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. ^eTheir silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. ^fFor it was ^gthe stumbling block of their iniquity. 20 ^hHis beautiful ornament they used for pride, and ⁱthey made their abominable images and their detestable things of it. Therefore ^jI make it an unclean thing to them. 21 And I will give it into the hands of ^kforeigners for prey, ^land to the wicked of the earth for spoil, and ^mthey shall profane it. 22 I will turn my face from them, and ⁿthey shall profane my treasured ^{▼▼Or secret} place. Robbers shall enter ^pand profane it.

Ezekiel 22:12-16

12 In you ^qthey take bribes to shed blood; ^ryou take interest and profit ^{▼▼That is, profit that comes from charging interest to the poor (compare Leviticus 25:36)} and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but ^tme you have forgotten, declares the Lord God.

13 “Behold, ^uI strike my hand at ^vthe dishonest gain that you have made, and at ^wthe blood that has been in your midst. 14 ^xCan your courage endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? ^yI the Lord have spoken, and I will do it. 15 ^zI will scatter you among the nations and disperse you through the countries, and ^aaI will consume your uncleanness out of you. 16 And ^abyou shall be profaned by your own doing ^acin the sight of the nations, ^adand you shall know that I am the Lord.”
