Ezekiel 8:5-17

5Then he said to me, aSon of man, lift up your eyes now toward the north.” So I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold, north of bthe altar gate, in the entrance, was this cimage of jealousy. 6And he said to me, “Son of man, ddo you see what they are doing, ethe great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, fto drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see still greater abominations.”

7And he brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, there was a hole in the wall. 8Then he said to me, “Son of man, gdig in the wall.” So I dug in the wall, and behold, there was an entrance. 9And he said to me, “Go in, and see hthe vile abominations that they are committing here.” 10So I went in and saw. And there, iengraved on the wall all around, was jevery form of kcreeping things and loathsome beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel. 11And before them stood lseventy men of mthe elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of nShaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and othe smoke of the cloud of incense went up. 12Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing pin the dark, each qin his room of pictures? For they say, r‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’” 13He said also to me, s“You will see still greater abominations that they commit.”

14Then he brought me to tthe entrance of the north gate of the house of the Lord, and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. 15Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, O uson of man? vYou will see still greater abominations than these.”

16And he brought me into wthe inner court of the house of the Lord. And behold, at the entrance of the temple of the Lord, xbetween the yporch and zthe altar, were about twenty-five men, aawith their backs to the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east, worshiping abthe sun toward the east. 17Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, O acson of man? Is it too light a thing for the house of Judah to commit adthe abominations that they commit here, that aethey should fill the land with violence and afprovoke me still further to anger? Behold, they put the branch to their

Ezekiel 43:7-8

7and he said to me, ahSon of man, this is aithe place of my throne and ajthe place of the soles of my feet, akwhere I will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever. And the house of Israel shall no more aldefile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoring and by the dead bodies

of their kings at their high places,
Or  at their deaths
8by setting their threshold by my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with aoonly a wall between me and them. They have apdefiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed, so I have consumed them in my anger.

Daniel 9:27

27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week,
Or seven; twice in this verse
and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. arAnd on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until asthe decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
