Ezekiel 9:4-6

4 And the Lord said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and ^aput a mark on the foreheads of the men who ^bsigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.” 5 And to ^cthe others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. ^dYour eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. 6 ^eKill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but ^ftouch no one on whom is the mark. And ^gbegin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the house.

John 16:6

6 But because I have said these things to you, ^hsorrow has filled your heart.

John 16:20-22

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, ⁱyou will weep and lament, but ^jthe world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but ^kyour sorrow will turn into joy. 21 ^lWhen a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 ^mSo also you have sorrow now, but ⁿI will see you again, and ^oyour hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
