Ezra 1:1

The Proclamation of Cyrus

1 aIn the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, bthat the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so cthat he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

Isaiah 41:2

2 dWho stirred up one from the east
whom victory meets at every estep?
Or  whom righteousness calls to follow?

gHe gives up nations before him,
so that he tramples kings underfoot;
he makes them like dust with his sword,
hlike driven stubble with his bow.

Isaiah 41:25

25 iI stirred up one from the north, and he has come,
jfrom the rising of the sun, kand he shall call upon my name;
he shall trample on rulers as on mortar,
as the potter treads clay.

Jeremiah 50:3

3For lout of the north a nation has come up against her, mwhich shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; nboth man and beast shall flee away.

Jeremiah 50:35

35 “A sword against the Chaldeans, declares the Lord,
and against the inhabitants of Babylon,
and against oher officials and her pwise men!

Jeremiah 51:11

11 qSharpen the arrows!
Take up the shields!
rThe Lord has stirred up the spirit of the kings of sthe Medes, because this purpose concerning Babylon is to destroy it, ufor that is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance for vhis temple.

Jeremiah 51:20-24

20 “You are my hammer and weapon of war:
with you I wbreak nations in pieces;
with you I destroy kingdoms;
21with you I break in pieces the horse and his rider;
with you I break in pieces the chariot and the charioteer;
22with you I break in pieces man and woman;
with you I break in pieces xthe old man and the youth;
with you I break in pieces ythe young man and the young woman;
23with you I break in pieces the shepherd and his flock;
with you I break in pieces the farmer and his team;
with you I break in pieces zgovernors and commanders.
24 aa“I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea before your very eyes for all the evil that they have done in Zion, declares the Lord.

Daniel 5:28-30

28Peres, your kingdom is divided and given to afthe Medes and agPersians.”
 Peres (the singular of  Parsin) sounds like the Aramaic for  divided and for Persia

29Then aiBelshazzar gave the command, and Daniel ajwas clothed with purple, a chain of gold was put around his neck, and a proclamation was made about him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

30 akThat very night alBelshazzar the amChaldean king was killed.

3I raised my eyes and saw, and behold, aoa ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last.
