The Proclamation of Cyrus

1 aIn the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, bthat the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so cthat he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

2Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and dhe has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Isaiah 45:13

13 eI have stirred him up in righteousness,
fand I will make all his ways level;
ghe shall build my city
hand set my exiles free,
not for price or reward,”
says the Lord of hosts.

Isaiah 48:20

20 iGo out from Babylon, flee from jChaldea,
declare this kwith a shout of joy, proclaim it,
send it out to the end of the earth;
say, l“The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”

Isaiah 52:9-12

9 mBreak forth together into singing,
nyou waste places of Jerusalem,
for othe Lord has comforted his people;
he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 pThe Lord has bared his holy arm
before the eyes of all the nations,
qand all the ends of the earth shall see
the salvation of our God.
11 rDepart, depart, go out from there;
touch no unclean thing;
go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves,
syou who bear the vessels of the Lord.
12For you shall not tgo out in haste,
and you shall not go in flight,
ufor the Lord will go before you,
vand the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Micah 7:8-13

8 wRejoice not over me, O xmy enemy;
ywhen I fall, I shall rise;
zwhen I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be a light to me.
9 aaI will bear the indignation of the Lord
because I have sinned against him,
until abhe pleads my cause
and executes judgment for me.
acHe will bring me out to the light;
I shall look upon his vindication.
10Then admy enemy will see,
and shame will cover her who aesaid to me,
Where is the Lord your God?”
afMy eyes will look upon her;
now she will be trampled down
aglike the mire of the streets.
11 ahA day for the building of your walls!
In that day the boundary shall be far extended.
12In that day they

ajfrom Assyria and the cities of Egypt,
and from Egypt to akthe River,
alfrom sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.
13But amthe earth will be desolate
because of its inhabitants,
for the fruit of their deeds.

Zechariah 2:7-9

7 anUp! Escape to Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon. 8For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me
Or he sent me after glory
to the nations who plundered you, apfor he who touches you touches aqthe apple of his eye:
9Behold, arI will shake my hand over them, asand they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then atyou will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.
