Haggai 1:1

The Command to Rebuild the Temple

1 fIn the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Haggai the prophet to gZerubbabel the son of hShealtiel, governor of Judah, and to iJoshua the son of jJehozadak, the high priest:

Haggai 1:14

14And kthe Lord stirred up the spirit of lZerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of mJoshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all nthe remnant of the people. And they came and oworked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,

Haggai 2:2-4

2Speak now to pZerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to qJoshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say, 3 rWho is left among you who saw this house sin its former glory? How do you see it now? tIs it not as nothing in your eyes? 4Yet now ube strong, O vZerubbabel, declares the Lord. wBe strong, O xJoshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. yBe strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. zWork, for aaI am with you, declares the Lord of hosts,

Zechariah 4:6-10

6Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to abZerubbabel: acNot by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. 7Who are you, adO great mountain? Before aeZerubbabel afyou shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward agthe top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”

8Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 9 ah“The hands of aiZerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also ajcomplete it. akThen you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. 10 alFor whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see amthe plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.

anThese seven aoare the eyes of the Lord, apwhich range through the whole earth.”
