Ezra 1:5

5Then rose up the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, aeveryone whose spirit bGod had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem.

Ezra 3:1-3

Rebuilding the Altar

1 cWhen the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem. 2Then arose Jeshua the son of Jozadak, with his fellow priests, and dZerubbabel the son of eShealtiel with his kinsmen, and they built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, fas it is written in the Law of Moses the gman of God. 3They set the altar in its place, hfor fear was on them because of the peoples of the lands, and ithey offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening.

Ezra 7:27

27 jBlessed be the Lord, the God of our fathers, kwho put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem,

Nehemiah 1:3

3And they said to me, “The remnant there in the province who had survived the exile is in great trouble and lshame. mThe wall of Jerusalem is broken down, nand its gates are destroyed by fire.”

Nehemiah 2:3

3I said to the king, o“Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, pwhen the city, the place of my fathersgraves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?”

Nehemiah 2:17

17Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in, qhow Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer rsuffer derision.”

Nehemiah 4:2

2And he said in the presence of his brothers and of the army of sSamaria, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they restore it for themselves?
Or  Will they commit themselves to God?
Will they sacrifice? Will they finish up in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, and burned ones at that?”

Nehemiah 4:6

6So we built the wall. And all the wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.

Nehemiah 4:10

10In Judah it was said,
Hebrew Judah said
“The strength of those who bear the burdens is failing. There is too much rubble. By ourselves we will not be able to rebuild the wall.”

Psalms 79:1

How Long, O Lord?

A Psalm of vAsaph.

1 O God, wthe nations have come into your xinheritance;
they have defiled your yholy temple;
they have zlaid Jerusalem in ruins.

Psalms 79:7-10

7For they have devoured Jacob
and laid waste his habitation.
8 aaDo not remember against us abour former iniquities;
Or the iniquities of former generations

let your compassion come speedily to meet us,
for we are adbrought very low.
9 aeHelp us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and afatone for our sins,
for your agname’s sake!
10 ahWhy should the nations say,
Where is their God?”
Let aithe avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants
be known among the nations before our eyes!

Psalms 137:5-6

5If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
ajlet my right hand forget its skill!
6Let my aktongue stick to the roof of my mouth,
if I do not remember you,
if I do not set Jerusalem
above my highest joy!
