Ezra 4:12

12be it known to the king that the Jews who came up from you to us have gone to Jerusalem. They are rebuilding that rebellious and wicked city. They are afinishing the walls and repairing the foundations.

Nehemiah 2:19

19But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite servant and bGeshem the Arab heard of it, cthey jeered at us and despised us and said, “What is this thing that you are doing? dAre you rebelling against the king?”

Nehemiah 6:6

6In it was written, “It is reported among the nations, and Geshem

also says it, that you and fthe Jews intend to rebel; that is why you are building the wall. And according to these reports you wish to become their king.

Esther 3:5-8

5And when Haman saw that gMordecai did not bow down or pay homage to him, Haman was hfilled with fury. 6But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone. So, as they had made known to him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus.

7In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, ithey cast Pur (that is, they cast lots) before Haman day after day; and they cast it month after month till the twelfth month, which is jthe month of Adar. 8Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom. kTheir laws are different from those of every other people, and they do not keep the king’s laws, so that it is not to the king’s profit to tolerate them.

Daniel 6:4-13

4Then lthe high officials and mthe satraps nsought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, obut they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, pand no error or fault was found in him. 5Then these men said, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God.”

6Then these qhigh officials and rsatraps came by agreement

to the king and said to him, “O tKing Darius, live forever!
7All the uhigh officials of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the vcounselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an winjunction, that whoever makes petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8Now, O king, establish xthe injunction and sign the document, so that it cannot be changed, according to ythe law of zthe Medes and the Persians, aawhich cannot be revoked.” 9Therefore King Darius signed the document and abinjunction.

10When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where ache had windows in his upper chamber open adtoward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees aethree times a day and prayed and afgave thanks before his God, as he had done previously. 11Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and plea before his God. 12Then they agcame near and said before the king, concerning the injunction, “O king! Did you not sign ahan injunction, that anyone who makes petition to any god or man within thirty days except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing stands fast, according to the law of aithe Medes and Persians, ajwhich cannot be revoked.” 13Then they answered and said before the king, akDaniel, who is one alof the exiles amfrom Judah, anpays no attention to you, O king, or aothe injunction you have signed, but makes his petition apthree times a day.”

Acts 17:6-7

6And when they could not find them, aqthey dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also, 7and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against arthe decrees of Caesar, saying that there is asanother king, Jesus.”
