Haggai 2:4-9

4Yet now ebe strong, O fZerubbabel, declares the Lord. gBe strong, O hJoshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. iBe strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. jWork, for kI am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, 5 laccording to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. mMy Spirit remains in your midst. nFear not. 6For thus says the Lord of hosts: oYet once more, in a little while, pI will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. 7And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and qI will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. 8 rThe silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. 9 sThe latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. A Vision of Joshua the High Priest

1Then he showed me agJoshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and ahSatan
Hebrew the Accuser or the Adversary
standing at his right hand to accuse him.
2And the Lord said to Satan, aj“The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has akchosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this ala brand
That is,  a burning stick
plucked from the fire?”
3Now anJoshua was standing before the angel, aoclothed with filthy garments. 4And the angel said to apthose who were standing before him, aqRemove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, arI have taken your iniquity away from you, and asI will clothe you with pure vestments.” 5And I said, at“Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by.

6And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured auJoshua, 7Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and avkeep my charge, then you shall awrule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among axthose who are standing here. 8Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you, for aythey are men who are a sign: behold, I will bring azmy servant bathe Branch. 9For behold, on bbthe stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with bcseven eyes,

I will beengrave its inscription, declares the Lord of hosts, and bfI will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
10In that day, declares the Lord of hosts, every one of you will invite his neighbor to come bgunder his vine and under his fig tree.”

A Vision of a Golden Lampstand

1And bhthe angel who talked with me came again biand woke me, like a man who is awakened out of his sleep. 2And he said to me, “What do you see?” I said, “I see, and behold, bja lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and bkseven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps that are on the top of it. 3And there are bltwo olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.” 4And I said to bmthe angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” 5Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, bn“Do you not know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.” 6Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to boZerubbabel: bpNot by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. 7Who are you, bqO great mountain? Before brZerubbabel bsyou shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward btthe top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”

8Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 9 bu“The hands of bvZerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also bwcomplete it. bxThen you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. 10 byFor whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see bzthe plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.

caThese seven cbare the eyes of the Lord, ccwhich range through the whole earth.”
11Then I said to him, “What are these cdtwo olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?” 12And a second time I answered and said to him, “What are these cetwo branches of the olive trees, which are beside the two golden pipes from which the golden oil
Hebrew lacks  oil
is poured out?”
13He said to me, cg“Do you not know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.” 14Then he said, chThese are the two anointed ones
Hebrew  two sons of new oil
who stand by cjthe Lord of the whole earth.”
