8 xDeacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,
Or devious in speech
znot addicted to much wine, aanot greedy for dishonest gain.
9They must abhold the mystery of the faith with aca clear conscience.

1 Timothy 4:6

A Good Servant of Christ Jesus

6 adIf you put these things before the brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church
you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have affollowed.

2 Timothy 2:24-25

Qualifications for Elders

and his children are believers
Or  are faithful
and not open to the charge of asdebauchery or insubordination.
7For an overseer,

auas God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not avbe arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent awor greedy for gain,
8but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, axand disciplined. 9He must ayhold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in azsound

doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
