Lamentations 1:1-3

How Lonely Sits the City

1 cHow lonely sits the city
that was full of people!
How like da widow has she become,
she who was great among the nations!
She who was ea princess among the provinces
has become fa slave.
2 gShe weeps bitterly in the night,
with tears on her cheeks;
hamong all her lovers
she has inone to comfort her;
jall her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
they have become her enemies.
3 kJudah has gone into exile because of affliction
and hard servitude;
lshe dwells now among the nations,
mbut finds no resting place;
her pursuers have all overtaken her
in the midst of her distress.
Or  in the narrow passes
