Ezra 9:6-7

6saying:

“O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities ahave risen higher than our heads, and our bguilt has cmounted up to the heavens.
7 dFrom the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great eguilt. And for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering, fand to utter shame, as it is today.

Jeremiah 2:26-27

26 “As a thief is shamed when caught,
so the house of Israel shall be shamed:
gthey, their kings, their officials,
their priests, and their prophets,
27who say to a tree, ‘You are my father,’
and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’
For they have turned their back to me,
and not their face.
But hin the time of their trouble they say,
Arise and save us!’

Jeremiah 11:13

13 iFor your gods have become as many as your cities, O Judah, and as many as the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to shame, jaltars to make offerings to Baal.

Daniel 9:5-8

5 kwe have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly land rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. 6 mWe have not listened to nyour servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to oour kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7To you, pO Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, qthose who are near and rthose who are far away, in sall the lands to which you have driven them, because of tthe treachery that they have committed against you. 8To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because uwe have sinned against you.

Hosea 9:10

10 Like grapes in the wilderness,
vI found Israel.
Like the first fruit on the fig tree
in its first season,
I saw your fathers.
But wthey came to Baal-peor
and xconsecrated themselves to the thing of shame,
and ybecame detestable like the thing they loved.
