Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, sand many times you delivered them according to your mercies. 29 tAnd you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet uthey acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, vwhich if a person does them, he shall live by them, wand they turned a stubborn shoulder xand stiffened their neck and would not obey. 30Many years yyou bore with them zand warned them aaby your Spirit through your prophets. abYet they would not give ear. acTherefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
7 alThere is no one who calls upon your name,
who rouses himself to take hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us,
and have made us melt in

8 anBut now, O Lord, you are our Father;
aowe are the clay, and you are our potter;
apwe are all the work of your hand.
9 aqBe not so terribly angry, O Lord,
arand remember not iniquity forever.
Behold, please look, we are all your people.
10 asYour holy cities have become a wilderness;
Zion has become a wilderness,
Jerusalem a desolation.
11 atOur holy and beautiful
Or  holy and glorious
house,
where our fathers praised you,
has been burned by fire,
and all our pleasant places have become ruins.
12 avWill you restrain yourself at these things, O Lord?
Will you keep silent, and afflict us so terribly?
