Ezra 9:6-7

6saying:

“O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities ahave risen higher than our heads, and our bguilt has cmounted up to the heavens.
7 dFrom the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great eguilt. And for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering, fand to utter shame, as it is today.

Nehemiah 1:6-11

6 glet your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants, hconfessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even iI and my father’s house have sinned. 7 jWe have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules kthat you commanded your servant Moses. 8Remember the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, lI will scatter you among the peoples, 9 mbut if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, nthough your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring them oto the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.’ 10 pThey are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand. 11O Lord, qlet your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.”

Now I was rcupbearer to the king.

Nehemiah 9:26-30

26 s“Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against you tand cast your law behind their back uand killed your prophets, who vhad warned them in order to turn them back to you, wand they committed great blasphemies. 27 xTherefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. yAnd in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them zsaviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies. 28 aaBut after they had rest they did evil again before you, and you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them. Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, aband many times you delivered them according to your mercies. 29 acAnd you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet adthey acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, aewhich if a person does them, he shall live by them, afand they turned a stubborn shoulder agand stiffened their neck and would not obey. 30Many years ahyou bore with them aiand warned them ajby your Spirit through your prophets. akYet they would not give ear. alTherefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

Psalms 106:6

6 amBoth we and anour fathers have sinned;
we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.

Isaiah 64:6-12

6 aoWe have all become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.
apWe all fade like a leaf,
and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
7 aqThere is no one who calls upon your name,
who rouses himself to take hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us,
and have made us melt in
Masoretic Text; Septuagint, Syriac, Targum  have delivered us into
the hand of our iniquities.
8 asBut now, O Lord, you are our Father;
atwe are the clay, and you are our potter;
auwe are all the work of your hand.
9 avBe not so terribly angry, O Lord,
awand remember not iniquity forever.
Behold, please look, we are all your people.
10 axYour holy cities have become a wilderness;
Zion has become a wilderness,
Jerusalem a desolation.
11 ayOur holy and beautiful
Or  holy and glorious
house,
where our fathers praised you,
has been burned by fire,
and all our pleasant places have become ruins.
12 baWill you restrain yourself at these things, O Lord?
Will you keep silent, and afflict us so terribly?

Daniel 9:5-11

5 bbwe have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly bcand rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. 6 bdWe have not listened to beyour servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to bfour kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7To you, bgO Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, bhthose who are near and bithose who are far away, in bjall the lands to which you have driven them, because of bkthe treachery that they have committed against you. 8To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because blwe have sinned against you. 9 bmTo the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him 10 bnand have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by bohis servants the prophets. 11 bpAll Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, bqrefusing to obey your voice. brAnd the curse and oath bsthat are written in the Law of btMoses the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because buwe have sinned against him.
