The Creation of the World

1In the abeginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was bwithout form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Job 9:8

8who alone cstretched out the heavens

2for he has dfounded it upon ethe seas
and established it upon the rivers.

Psalms 104:2-5

2covering yourself with light as with a garment,

5 He oset the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be moved.

Proverbs 8:23-27

23Ages ago I was pset up,
at the first, qbefore the beginning of the earth.
24When there were no rdepths I was sbrought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
25Before the mountains thad been shaped,
ubefore the hills, I was brought forth,
26before he had made the earth with its fields,
or the first of the dust of the world.
27When he vestablished the heavens, I was there;
when he drew wa circle on the face of the deep,

Isaiah 40:22

22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are xlike grasshoppers;
ywho stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

Isaiah 40:26

26Lift up your eyes on high and see:
who created these?
zHe who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
and because he is strong in power,
not one is missing.

Isaiah 42:5

5 Thus says God, the Lord,
who created the heavens aaand stretched them out,
who spread out the earth and what comes from it,
abwho gives breath to the people on it
