Genesis 1:26-28

26Then God said, a“Let us make man
The Hebrew word for  man (adam) is the generic term for mankind and becomes the proper name Adam
in our image, cafter our likeness. And dlet them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
emale and female he created them.
28And God blessed them. And God said to them, f“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

A Psalm of David.

1 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your iname in all the earth!
You have set your jglory above the heavens.
2 kOut of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established lstrength because of your foes,
to still mthe enemy and the avenger.
3 When I nlook at your heavens, the work of your ofingers,
the moon and the stars, pwhich you have set in place,
4 qwhat is man that you are rmindful of him,
and sthe son of man that you tcare for him?
5 Yet you have made him a little lower than uthe heavenly beings
Or  than God; Septuagint  than the angels

and crowned him with wglory and honor.
6You have given him xdominion over the works of your hands;
yyou have put all things under his feet,
7all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
