Genesis 11:31

31Terah atook Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together bfrom Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

Genesis 12:1-4

The Call of Abram

1Now cthe Lord said
Or had said
to Abram, “Go from your country
Or land
and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
2 fAnd I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 gI will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and hin you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Or by you all the families of the earth shall bless themselves


4So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from jHaran.

Joshua 24:3

3 kThen I took your father Abraham from beyond the River and lled him through all the land of Canaan, and made his offspring many. mI gave him Isaac.

Nehemiah 9:7-8

7You are the Lord, the God nwho chose Abram and brought him out of oUr of the Chaldeans pand gave him the name Abraham. 8 qYou found his heart faithful before you, rand made with him the covenant to give to his offspring sthe land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. tAnd you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.

Isaiah 41:2

2 uWho stirred up one from the east
whom victory meets at every vstep?
Or  whom righteousness calls to follow?

xHe gives up nations before him,
so that he tramples kings underfoot;
he makes them like dust with his sword,
ylike driven stubble with his bow.

Isaiah 51:2

2Look to Abraham your father
and to Sarah who bore you;
for zhe was but one when I called him,
that I might bless him and multiply him.

Acts 7:2-4

2And Stephen said:

aaBrothers and fathers, hear me. abThe God acof glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, adbefore he lived in Haran,
3and said to him, aeGo out from your land and from your kindred and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 afThen he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And agafter his father died, ahGod removed him from there into this land in which you are now living.
