Genesis 12:2

2 aAnd I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

Genesis 17:5-6

5No longer shall your name be called Abram,
 Abram means exalted father
but cyour name shall be Abraham,
 Abraham means father of a multitude
efor I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
6I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make fyou into nations, and gkings shall come from you.

Romans 4:11-13

11 hHe received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was ito make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well, 12and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

The Promise Realized Through Faith

13For jthe promise to Abraham and his offspring kthat he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Romans 4:17-18

17as it is written, l“I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, mwho gives life to the dead and calls into existence nthe things that do not exist. 18In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, oSo shall your offspring be.”

Galatians 3:28-29

28 pThere is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave
Greek bondservant
nor free, rthere is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And sif you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, theirs according to promise.

James 2:23

23and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, uAbraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a vfriend of God.
