Genesis 12:7-8

7Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, a“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8From there he moved to the hill country on the east of bBethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

Genesis 33:20

20There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.
 El-Elohe-Israel means God, the God of Israel


Genesis 35:7

7and there he built an altar and called the place El-bethel,
 El-bethel means God of Bethel
because ethere God had revealed himself to him when he fled from his brother.

Judges 21:5

5And the people of Israel said, “Which of all the tribes of Israel did not come up in the assembly to the Lord?” fFor they had taken a great oath concerning him who did not come up to the Lord to Mizpah, saying, “He shall surely be put to death.”

1 Samuel 11:15

1 Kings 18:30-36

30Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” And all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that had been jthrown down. 31Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord came, saying, kIsrael shall be your name,” 32and with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord. And he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two seahs
A  seah was about 7 quarts or 7.3 liters
of seed.
33 mAnd he put the wood in order and cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said, “Fill four jars with water and npour it on the burnt offering and on the wood.” 34And he said, “Do it a second time.” And they did it a second time. And he said, “Do it a third time.” And they did it a third time. 35And the water ran around the altar and filled the trench also with water.

36And at the time of othe offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, pGod of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that qyou are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that rI have done all these things at your word.
