Genesis 13:10-13

10And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the aJordan Valley was well watered everywhere like bthe garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of cZoar. (This was before the Lord ddestroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other. 12Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. 13Now the men of Sodom ewere wicked, great sinners against the Lord.

Genesis 19:26-38

26But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became fa pillar of salt.

27And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had gstood before the Lord. 28And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.

29So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God hremembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

Lot and His Daughters

30Now Lot went up out of Zoar and ilived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. 31And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. 32Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 33So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

34The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 35So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. 36Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father. 37The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab.
Moab sounds like the Hebrew for from father
kHe is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38The younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi.
Ben-ammi means son of my people
mHe is the father of the Ammonites to this day.

Deuteronomy 7:25-26

25The carved images of their gods nyou shall burn with fire. You oshall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be pensnared by it, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God. 26And you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house and become devoted to destruction
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); twice in this verse
like it. You shall utterly detest and abhor it, rfor it is devoted to destruction.

Joshua 7:21-26

21when I saw among the spoil a beautiful cloak from Shinar, and 200 shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing 50 shekels,
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
then I coveted them and took them. And see, they are hidden in the earth inside my tent, with the silver underneath.”

22So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and behold, it was hidden in his tent with the silver underneath. 23And they took them out of the tent and brought them to Joshua and to all the people of Israel. And they laid them down before the Lord. 24And Joshua and all Israel with him took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver and the cloak and the bar of gold, and his sons and daughters and his oxen and donkeys and sheep and his tent and all that he had. And they brought them up to the tValley of Achor. 25And Joshua said, “Why did you ubring trouble on us? The Lord brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel vstoned him with stones. wThey burned them with fire and stoned them with stones. 26And they raised over him xa great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then ythe Lord turned from his burning anger. Therefore, to this day the name of that place is called the Valley of Achor.
 Achor means trouble

1 Kings 21:2-4

2And after this Ahab said to Naboth, aaGive me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near my house, and I will give you a better vineyard for it; or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its value in money.” 3But Naboth said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid abthat I should give you the inheritance of my fathers.” 4And Ahab acwent into his house vexed and sullen because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed and turned away his face and would eat no food.

1 Kings 21:19-24

19And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: ad“In the place where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your own blood.”’”

20Ahab said to Elijah, ae“Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because afyou have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord. 21Behold, I will bring disaster upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and agwill cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel. 22And I will make your house like ahthe house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like aithe house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the anger to which you have provoked me, and because you ajhave made Israel to sin. 23And of Jezebel the Lord also said, ak‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel within althe walls of Jezreel.’ 24 amAnyone belonging to Ahab who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone of his who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat.”
