Genesis 13:10-13

10And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the aJordan Valley was well watered everywhere like bthe garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of cZoar. (This was before the Lord ddestroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other. 12Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. 13Now the men of Sodom ewere wicked, great sinners against the Lord.

Joshua 7:20-21

20And Achan answered Joshua, “Truly fI have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I did: 21when I saw among the spoil a beautiful cloak from Shinar, and 200 shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing 50 shekels,
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
then I coveted them and took them. And see, they are hidden in the earth inside my tent, with the silver underneath.”

2 Kings 5:20-27

20 hGehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “See, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not accepting from his hand what he brought. iAs the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.” 21So Gehazi followed Naaman. And when Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him and said, j“Is all well?” 22And he said, “All is well. My master has sent me to say, ‘There have just now come to me from kthe hill country of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets. Please give them a talent of silver and ltwo changes of clothing.’” 23And Naaman said, m“Be pleased to accept two talents.” And he urged him and tied up two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants. And they carried them before Gehazi. 24And when he came to the hill, he took them from their hand and put them in the house, and he sent the men away, and they departed. 25He went in and stood before his master, and Elisha said to him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant went nowhere.” 26But he said to him, “Did not my heart go when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Was it a time to accept money and garments, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male servants and female servants? 27Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence na leper, like snow.

Matthew 6:24-25

Do Not Be Anxious

25 rTherefore I tell you, sdo not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 19:16-24

The Rich Young Man

16 tAnd behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to uhave veternal life?” 17And he said to him, Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. wIf you would enter life, keep the commandments.” 18He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, x“You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, 19Honor your father and mother, and, yYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20The young man said to him, zAll these I have kept. What do I still lack?” 21Jesus said to him, If you would be aaperfect, go, absell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have actreasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 adWhen the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

23And Jesus said to his disciples, Truly, I say to you, aeonly with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 afAgain I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter agthe kingdom of God.”
