Genesis 14:14-16

14When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, aborn in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as bDan. 15And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus. 16Then he brought back all the possessions, and also brought back his kinsman Lot cwith his possessions, and the women and the people.

1 Samuel 30:1-8

David’s Wives Are Captured

1Now when David and his men came to dZiklag on the third day, ethe Amalekites had fmade a raid against the Negeb and against Ziklag. They had overcome Ziklag and burned it with fire 2and taken captive the women and all

7 kAnd David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 lAnd David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue after this mband? Shall I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake nand shall surely rescue.”

1 Samuel 30:18-20

18 oDavid recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives. 19Nothing was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that had been taken. pDavid brought back all. 20David also captured all the flocks and herds, and the people drove the livestock before him,
The meaning of the Hebrew clause is uncertain
and said, “This is David’s spoil.”
