Genesis 14:18-21

18And aMelchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was bpriest of cGod Most High.) 19And he blessed him and said,

dBlessed be Abram by God Most High,
ePossessor
Or Creator; also verse 22
of heaven and earth;
20and blessed be God Most High,
who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”
And Abram gave him ga tenth of everything.
21And the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself.”

Genesis 28:22

22and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, hshall be God’s house. And iof all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you.”

All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord. 23And qevery one who possessed rblue or purple or scarlet yarns or fine linen or goats’ hair or tanned ramsskins or goatskins brought them. 24 sEveryone who could make a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord’s contribution. And every one who possessed acacia wood of any use in the work brought it. 25And every tskillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. 26All the women uwhose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats’ hair. 27And the vleaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, 28and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. 29 wAll the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.

Proverbs 14:31

31Whoever oppresses a poor man xinsults his yMaker,
zbut he who is generous to the needy honors him.
