God’s Covenant with Abram
1After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: a“Fear not, Abram, I am byour shield; your reward shall be very great.”Genesis 46:3
3Then he said, “I am God, cthe God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will dmake you into a great nation.1 Kings 17:13
13And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son.2 Kings 6:16
16He said, “Do not be afraid, efor those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”Isaiah 41:10-14
10fear not, for I am with you;be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with fmy righteous right hand.
11 gBehold, all who are incensed against you
shall be put to shame and confounded;
those who strive against you
shall be as nothing and shall perish.
12 hYou shall seek those who contend with you,
but you shall not find them;
ithose who war against you
shall be as nothing at all.
13For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.”
14 Fear not, you jworm Jacob,
you men of Israel!
I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord;
your kRedeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 43:1-5
Israel’s Only Savior
1 But now thus says the Lord,lhe who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
m“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
nI have called you by name, you are mine.
2 oWhen you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
pwhen you walk through fire qyou shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3For rI am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
sI give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and tSeba in exchange for you.
4Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.
5 uFear not, for I am with you;
vI will bring your offspring from the east,
and from the west I will gather you.
Acts 18:9-10
9And the Lord said to Paul wone night in xa vision, y“Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, 10 zfor I am with you, and aano one will attack you to harm you, for abI have many in this city who are my people.”
