God’s Covenant with Abram

1After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: aFear not, Abram, I am byour shield; your reward shall be very great.”

Deuteronomy 31:6-8

6 cBe strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, dfor it is the Lord your God who goes with you. eHe will not leave you or forsake you.”

7Then fMoses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, g“Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8It is the Lord hwho goes before you. He will be with you; ihe will not leave you or forsake you. jDo not fear or be dismayed.”

Isaiah 41:10-15

10fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with kmy righteous right hand.
11 lBehold, all who are incensed against you
shall be put to shame and confounded;
those who strive against you
shall be as nothing and shall perish.
12 mYou shall seek those who contend with you,
but you shall not find them;
nthose who war against you
shall be as nothing at all.
13For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.”
14 Fear not, you oworm Jacob,
you men of Israel!
I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord;
your pRedeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 qBehold, I make of you a threshing sledge,
new, sharp, and having teeth;
you shall thresh rthe mountains and crush them,
and you shall make the hills like chaff;

Isaiah 43:5

5 sFear not, for I am with you;
tI will bring your offspring from the east,
and from the west I will gather you.

Isaiah 44:2

2Thus says the Lord who made you,
uwho formed you from the womb and will help you:
vFear not, O Jacob my servant,
wJeshurun whom I have chosen.

Isaiah 54:4

4 Fear not, xfor you will not be ashamed;
be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

Jeremiah 46:27-28

27 y“But fear not, O Jacob my servant,
nor be dismayed, O Israel,
for behold, I will save you from far away,
and your offspring from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
and none shall make him afraid.
28 zFear not, O Jacob my servant,

declares the Lord,
for I am with you.
I will make a full end of all the nations
to which I have driven you,
but of you I will not make a full end.
aaI will discipline you in just measure,
and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”
