God’s Covenant with Abram

1After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: aFear not, Abram, I am byour shield; your reward shall be very great.”

Matthew 6:1-2

Giving to the Needy

1Beware of ipracticing your righteousness before other people in order jto be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

2 kThus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may lbe praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have mreceived their reward.

The Lord’s Prayer

5And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love nto stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. oTruly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Fasting

16And pwhen you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. qTruly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Hebrews 11:26
