Genesis 25:21

21And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And hthe Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Genesis 30:1-2

1When Rachel saw that ishe bore Jacob no children, she envied her sister. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I shall die!” 2Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, jwho has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

Genesis 30:22

22Then God kremembered Rachel, and God listened to her and lopened her womb.

Judges 13:2-3

2There was a certain man of mZorah, of the tribe of the Danites, whose name was Manoah. nAnd his wife was barren and had no children. 3 oAnd the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman and said to her, “Behold, you are barren and have not borne children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.

1 Samuel 1:5

5But to Hannah he gave a double portion, because he loved her, though the Lord had closed her womb.
Syriac; the meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain. Septuagint And, although he loved Hannah, he would give Hannah only one portion, because the Lord had closed her womb

1 Samuel 1:20

20And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked for him from the Lord.”
 Samuel sounds like the Hebrew for heard of God


1 Samuel 1:27

27For this child I prayed, rand the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him.
