Bondservants and Masters

5 eBondservants,
Or slaves; also verse 6 (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
obey your earthly masters
Or  your masters according to the flesh
with fear and trembling, hwith a sincere heart, ias you would Christ,
6not by the way of eye-service, as jpeople-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8 kknowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, lwhether he is a bondservant
Or slave (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
or is free.

1 Timothy 6:1-2

1 nLet all who are under a yoke as bondservants
Or slaves (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)
regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, pso that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.
2Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are qbrothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved.
