Abraham and the Covenant of Circumcision

1When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty;

Exodus 3:13-15

15God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord,
The word Lord, when spelled with capital letters, stands for the divine name, YHWH, which is here connected with the verb hayah, “to be” in verse 14
the fGod of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is gmy name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.

Exodus 6:3

3I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as hGod Almighty,
Hebrew El Shaddai
but by my name the jLord I did not make myself known to them.

Exodus 34:5-7

Isaiah 57:15

Jeremiah 23:6

6In his days Judah will be saved, and akIsrael will aldwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: am‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Matthew 1:23

23 anBehold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name aoImmanuel
