Genesis 19:37-38

37The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab.
 Moab sounds like the Hebrew for from father
bHe is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38The younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi.
 Ben-ammi means son of my people
dHe is the father of the Ammonites to this day.

Deuteronomy 23:3-6

3 eNo Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the Lord forever, 4 fbecause they did not meet you with bread and with water on the way, when you came out of Egypt, and because they ghired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of hMesopotamia, to curse you. 5But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned ithe curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you. 6You jshall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days forever.

Nehemiah 4:3
