Romans 5:12-21

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

12Therefore, just as ksin came into the world through one man, and ldeath through sin, and mso death spread to all men
The Greek word anthropoi refers here to both men and women; also twice in verse 18
because oall sinned
13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but psin is not counted where there is no law. 14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not qlike the transgression of Adam, rwho was a type of sthe one who was to come.

15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for tmany. 16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For uthe judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought vjustification. 17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness wreign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

18Therefore, as one trespass
Or the trespass of one
led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness
Or the act of righteousness of one
leads to justification and life for zall men.
19For as by the one man’s aadisobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s abobedience the many will be made righteous. 20Now acthe law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, adgrace abounded all the more, 21so that, aeas sin reigned in death, afgrace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:21-23

21 agBut what fruit were you getting at that time from the things ahof which you are now ashamed? aiFor the end of those things is death. 22But now that you ajhave been set free from sin and akhave become slaves of God, althe fruit you get leads to sanctification and amits end, eternal life. 23 anFor the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Revelation of John 20:14-15

14Then aoDeath and Hades apwere thrown into the lake of fire. This is aqthe second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, arhe was thrown into the lake of fire.
