Genesis 2:17

17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ayou shall not eat, for in the day that you eat
Or when you eat
of it you cshall surely die.”

Genesis 3:6

6So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,
Or  to give insight
she took of its fruit eand ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, fand he ate.

Genesis 3:19

19By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
gfor you are dust,
and hto dust you shall return.”

John 5:21-29

21For as the Father iraises the dead and jgives them life, so kalso the Son gives life lto whom he will. 22 mFor the Father judges no one, but nhas given all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son, just as they ohonor the Father. pWhoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24Truly, truly, I say to you, qwhoever hears my word and rbelieves him who sent me has eternal life. He sdoes not come into judgment, but thas passed from death to life.

25Truly, truly, I say to you, uan hour is coming, and is now here, when vthe dead will hear wthe voice of the Son of God, and those who hear xwill live. 26 yFor as the Father has life in himself, zso he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27And he aahas given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. 28Do not marvel at this, for aban hour is coming when acall who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29and come out, adthose who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Romans 5:12-21

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

12Therefore, just as aesin came into the world through one man, and afdeath through sin, and agso death spread to all men
The Greek word anthropoi refers here to both men and women; also twice in verse 18
because aiall sinned
13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but ajsin is not counted where there is no law. 14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not aklike the transgression of Adam, alwho was a type of amthe one who was to come.

15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for anmany. 16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For aothe judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought apjustification. 17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness aqreign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

18Therefore, as one trespass
Or the trespass of one
led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness
Or the act of righteousness of one
leads to justification and life for atall men.
19For as by the one man’s audisobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s avobedience the many will be made righteous. 20Now awthe law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, axgrace abounded all the more, 21so that, ayas sin reigned in death, azgrace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:45-49

45Thus it is written, ba“The first man Adam became a living being”;
Greek  a living soul
bcthe last Adam became a bdlife-giving spirit.
46But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 beThe first man was from the earth, bfa man of dust; bgthe second man is from heaven. 48As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, bhso also are those who are of heaven. 49Just bias we have borne the image of the man of dust, bjwe shall
Some manuscripts let us
also bear the image of the man of heaven.
