Genesis 2:8-9

8And the Lord God planted a agarden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. bThe tree of life was in the midst of the garden, cand the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 13:10

10And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the dJordan Valley was well watered everywhere like ethe garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of fZoar. (This was before the Lord gdestroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

Ezekiel 31:8-10

8 hThe cedars iin the garden of God could not rival it,
nor the fir trees equal its boughs;
neither were the plane trees
like its branches;
no tree jin the garden of God
was its equal in beauty.
9I made it beautiful
in the mass of its branches,
and all the trees of kEden envied it,
that were in the garden of God.
10Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because lit
Syriac, Vulgate; Hebrew you
towered high and set its top among the clouds, and nits heart was proud of its height,

Joel 2:3

3 oFire devours before them,
and behind them a flame burns.
The land is like pthe garden of Eden before them,
but qbehind them a desolate wilderness,
and nothing escapes them.
