Genesis 2:9

9And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. aThe tree of life was in the midst of the garden, band the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3:1-3

The Fall

1Now cthe serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.

He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You

shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”
2And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3but God said, e‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

Genesis 3:11

11He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”

Genesis 3:17

17And to Adam he said,

Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree
fof which I commanded you,
‘You shall not eat of it,’
gcursed is the ground because of you;
hin pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

Genesis 3:19

19By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
ifor you are dust,
and jto dust you shall return.”
