Genesis 20:7

7Now then, return the man’s wife, afor he is a prophet, so that he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you band all who are yours.”

Genesis 20:17

17Then cAbraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and also healed his wife and female slaves so that they bore children.

Exodus 32:10-14

10Now therefore dlet me alone, that emy wrath may burn hot against them and fI may consume them, in order that gI may make a great nation of you.”

11But hMoses implored the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 iWhy should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and jrelent from this disaster against your people. 13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you kswore by your own self, and said to them, l‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’” 14And the Lord mrelented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people.

Exodus 32:31-32

31So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Alas, nthis people has sinned a great sin. They have omade for themselves gods of gold. 32But now, if pyou will forgive their sin—but if not, please qblot me out of ryour book that you have written.”

Exodus 34:9

9And he said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please slet the Lord go in the midst of us, for tit is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for uyour inheritance.”

Numbers 12:13

13And Moses cried to the Lord, “O God, please heal her—please.”

Numbers 14:11-21

11And the Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people vdespise me? And how long will they not wbelieve in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? 12I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I xwill make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

Moses Intercedes for the People

13But yMoses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear of it, for you brought up this people in your might from among them, 14and they will tell the inhabitants of this land. zThey have heard that you, O Lord, are in the midst of this people. For you, O Lord, are seen face to face, and aayour cloud stands over them and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night. 15Now if you kill this people as one man, then the nations who have heard your fame will say, 16‘It is because the Lord abwas not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to give to them that he has killed them in the wilderness.’ 17And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, 18 ac‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, advisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ 19Please aepardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just afas you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

God Promises Judgment

20Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, agaccording to your word. 21But truly, as I live, and as all ahthe earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord,

Deuteronomy 9:18-20

18Then I ailay prostrate before the Lord ajas before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, akin doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger. 19For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. alBut the Lord listened to me that time also. 20And the Lord was so angry with Aaron that he was ready to destroy him. And I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.
