1After these things aGod tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

7But the Lord said to Samuel, b“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, cbut the Lord looks on the heart.”

Job 23:10

10But he dknows ethe way that I ftake;
when he has gtried me, I shall come out as gold.

Psalms 7:9

9Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
and may you establish the righteous
you who htest ithe minds and hearts,
Hebrew  the hearts and kidneys

O righteous God!

Psalms 66:10

10For you, O God, have ktested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried.

Jeremiah 6:27-30

27 “I have made you la tester of metals among my people,
that you may know and mtest their ways.
28 nThey are all stubbornly rebellious,
ogoing about with slanders;
they are pbronze and iron;
all of them act corruptly.
29The qbellows blow fiercely;
the lead is consumed by the fire;
rin vain the refining goes on,
for the wicked are not removed.
30 sRejected silver they are called,
for the Lord has rejected them.”

Malachi 3:2-3

2But twho can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For uhe is like a refiner’s fire and like fullerssoap. 3He will sit vas a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring wofferings in righteousness to the Lord.
Or and they will belong to the Lord, bringers of an offering in righteousness
